Erika Mercurio is a New York-based interior designer, whose early career began at Harper’s Bazaar and Real Simple. After a decade in magazine publishing, Erika focused on her love of decor and launched EMD, a business that revolves around her unique approach to contemporary, elevated interiors.

Erika’s design philosophy focuses on creating comfortable, beautiful and functional homes with a cozy modern aesthetic.

“I love contemporary design, but my passion is sourcing one-of-a-kind vintage items with soul to create an authentic and textured space. I scour flea markets and antiques stores to find special rugs, accessories, textiles, furniture, books, and more.”

With 13 years in business, EMD specializes in full home renovations, partnering with architects and contractors to put a design-forward plan in place to realize the home of each of our client’s dreams.

Erika graduated from Boston College and studied at the New York School of Interior Design, as well as under interior designers Thom Filicia and Charlotte Barnes.
